FSBC provides free community Prevention presentations on underage substance misuse, free Naloxone training and Narcan kits to the community, Deterra safe drug disposal deactivation kits, and a NY State Liquor Authority Certified Alcohol Training Awareness Program (ATAP) for a nominal fee.

Educate the Community Through Town Hall Meetings: addressing harmful effects of underage substance use and its effects on the developing brain.

Increase Enforcement: of alcohol businesses to not sell alcohol to minors.

Reduce Youth’s Access to Purchasing Alcohol: Offer free training to businesses on Alcohol Beverage Server Training.

Changed Advertising Policy: NYC removed alcohol advertisements from MTA.

Youth Group:  Developed South Bronx Visionaries, a youth leadership group.

Parent Group: Talk They Hear YouAn educational campaign to increase parents’ knowledge to talk to their children about substance abuse.

FSBC conducts community surveys to gain insightful feedback regarding opinions on the prevention of youth substance access and use, from adults who live and/or work in the Hunts Point/Longwood area.

FSBC collaborates with the local police to conduct compliance checks of bars, restaurants, and stores; to set up DWI checkpoints.

Pathways to Connection: a workgroup within the FSBC that focuses on providing substance misuse prevention education to youth ages 16 - 24 who are not in school and unemployed.
